The City of Monroe Fire Department will be sponsoring the annual Severe Weather Symposium for Monroe residents this month. This is a great opportunity to hear from the Mayor’s Office, Monroe Emergency Services, Monroe High School, Butler County EMA, the Insurance Industry, Red Cross, Duke Energy & a WLWT Meteorologist on how we operate in times of emergency, and how to better prepare for a severe weather event. Each entity will speak in their area of expertise, and answer questions. Chief Meteorologist Kevin Robinson from WLWT will advise us on upcoming weather patterns, and what to expect this season.
This is a great opportunity to plan ahead for emergencies, and learn more about the services available to you in times of disaster. We will discuss how to prepare your family for severe weather in the minutes, hours, and days before an event. Our partners at the Monroe Kroger will be providing severe weather themed door prizes, which will be distributed throughout the event.
