Dear Parents and Students,
On Wednesday, November 6th we will be holding our next ALICE Drill. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate and we will be practicing all aspects of that acronym. For this drill, at a certain time teachers will be sent a scenario through email. At that point the teacher will decide if they should stay in the room or evacuate based on the location of the threat. Teachers’ responses could differ depending on the location, time, and type of threat. While we understand that the likelihood of an incident of this nature happening in our school is extremely low, we still believe that we must continue to train and prepare our students and staff for the possibility. Teachers will talk with their classes, not to scare them, but to let them know we need to practice staying safe. (-along the same lines as “stranger danger”)
If you have any questions about the ALICE Drill or school safety please contact our office.
