LMHS Commemorative Brick Distribution

On July 4th, the Monroe Local School Board will be giving away commemorative bricks from the demolition of the former Lemon-Monroe High School building.  Over 2,000 bricks have already been made available during the month of June on a first come first serve basis.  It was reported that a limited number of people were taking hundreds of bricks at a time preventing many alumni and community members from getting bricks.

Members of the Board of Education and district administrators will be celebrating memories of the LMHS Building and Stadium on the morning of July 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM by distributing a couple of bricks per person.  They will continue giving bricks until the Independence Day Parade begins around noon or until all of the bricks have been claimed.  Any LMHS Alumni or Monroe Community members are encouraged to attend if they would like to have a keepsake to accompany all of the great memories of this complex and early years of our school district.

Enter the Monroe Primary School driveway from the intersection of Britton Lane and Macready Avenue then proceed to the parking lot in back by the ball diamonds.

This will be the final day for brick distribution and once the bricks are gone there will not be any more made available.  Due to safety concerns at the active demolition site, the Monroe Local School Board asks that no one attempt to enter the fenced area to retrieve bricks.
