There have been some important updates concerning COVID-19 protocols and policies. On December 30, Governor DeWine shared new quarantine guidelines for K-12 schools. These updated guidelines impact staff and students who are in close contact with someone
All Monroe students are now eligible for free lunches and free breakfasts through December 31, 2020. Students who are attending in person or remotely can receive one free breakfast and one free lunch daily.
Monroe Local School District will start the new school year with the Hybrid Model beginning on Monday, August 24 through Friday, October 16 for students in grades K-12.
A new visitor access system will be launched in October 2019.
Visitors to the building will need to present a valid state issued ID to enter the building.

Based upon the Winter Storm Watch forecasting possible rain turning to ice and snow, Monroe Local School district is considering the option of a two-hour early release from school on Fri. Jan. 12, 2018.
No decision has been reached at this time.

The Monroe Athletic Boosters will be hosting their annual golf outing on August 7th at Shaker Run Golf Course. Help support student athletes by signing up to play in or sponsor the event.
The boys high school basketball team will have a player/parent meeting on Thursday April 7th at 6 pm in the HS Cafeteria. Players grade 8-11 are encouraged to attend.
The Hornets began the track season with fast times at the LaSalle Legends Track and Field Classic.

Each year the Monroe Board of Education awards the President's Scholarship of $500 to a senior graduating from Monroe High School. The criteria for eligibility is attached.
On February 24, 2016, at 7:00 PM, the District will hold an informational meeting regarding demolition and site improvement at the old LMHS building. It will be held at the Monroe High School Auditorium, 220 Yankee Road.
The varsity boys basketball team defeated Eaton at home Friday and Bellbrook on the road Saturday to move a step closer to finishing near the top of the SWBL this season.
The Lady Hornets defeated Franklin on Saturday evening.
The varsity boys basketball team opens their season at Ross on Nov. 28th. The boys return home on Dec. 1st to face Northridge. Special halftime entertainment will be the nationally renowned jump rope team the Firecrackers!
The girls cross country team continues to make history. Qualifying a team to the regional cross country meet in Troy wasn't enough for the Lady Hornets. They qualified 2 individuals to the state meet.
The varsity football team travels to Edgewood to open the 2015 season at 7:00 pm tonight. You can head to Edgewood or listen to a live audio stream of the game.
Parents of athletes in grade 7-12 will now have the convenience of submitting all required athletic forms and physicals online. The Monroe Athletic Department In partnership with PrivIT and the OHSAA has gone digital for forms.
The Ohio Department of Health requires all students to show proof of a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) vaccine before starting 7th grade.
There will be an informational parent/player meeting for any girl interested in playing high school soccer for the 2015 season on Thursday, March 26th. The meeting will take place in the high school cafeteria at 6:00 p.m.
Congratulations to Joshua Rocheleau for qualifying to state in the 100 & 200 Freestyle. He will travel to Canton for preliminary competition on Thursaday.
1st Day of High School Softball tryouts will be held Monday February 23 at 3:15 pm in the baseball/softball warehouse B located at 1045 Reed Road in Monroe.
Sign up for the youth baseball camp hosted by our varsity baseball team online. The camp has been moved to Feb. 28, 2015 with ages 8-11 (9:00am-12:00pm) and ages 12-16 (1:00-4:00pm).

The Hornet swim team traveled to Trotwood on Friday Feb. 7th. Strong performance by all of the swimmers, and 2 individual championships for Josh Rocheleau.
February 3rd the youth girls basketball teams will be recognized at the varsity girls game with Middletown Christian. Come out and meet the future of Lady Hornets Basketball program before the start of the varsity game.
On Thursday night, January 29th, during the girls basketball game the Athletic Department and Team Inspire will be sponsoring Hoops for Hope. The featured event will be Layups for Lauren to help raise money for Pediatric Cancer Research.
After an impressive cross country season, the team has received even more recognition for their efforts. The Enquirer released the Cincinnati All-Star picks for cross country.
The School board meeting at 7 pm and fall sports banquet at 6 pm are both still on as scheduled. Varsity practices are permitted, contact your coach for more details.

A single donation of a #22 Monroe Hornet Jersey was made to the Jerseys for Lauren Auction to support Lauren Hill. The jersey is signed and will be auctioned off to support cancer research.
The Lady Hornets Soccer team finishes the season with a share of the SWBL title. The girls also are ranked #4 in the city as the season draws to a close. First tournament game at Home Oct. 18th 2 pm.
The School will be conducting a survey to understand the teen behaviors that our students experience The information collected will be used to develop an intervention to improve the school climate in conjunction with Miami University Graduate Students.
