Remote Learning Days-2/5 & 2/26

Jan 31, 2021
Monroe City Schools

Beginning February 1, 2021, Ohio will begin vaccination of K-12 school staff with the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccination. The state is coordinating this effort locally through the Butler County Education Service Center. Each school district in the county has been assigned a designated health/vaccination partner and staff vaccination dates.

In order for Monroe staff to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, there will be remote learning days scheduled for Friday, February 5, 2021 and Friday, February 26, 2021.

We were notified today that Monroe Local School District staff is scheduled to receive the first dose of the vaccination on Friday, February 5, 2021. School district staff must go offsite to our designated health partner between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. to receive the shot. Monroe Schools will have a remote learning day since teachers must report off-site to receive the vaccine during the day. Please be mindful that your child’s remote learning day will likely be more self-paced and self-directed than the most recent remote learning days. Teachers will be communicating with parents and students about what their remote learning will look like that day.

The second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination is scheduled for 21 days after the first shot and will necessitate another remote learning day for Monroe students. This second remote learning day for round two of vaccinations is Friday, February 26, 2021.

We are grateful that our staff has this opportunity to receive the vaccination so soon and appreciate your flexibility. The vaccination is one important tool in our fight against this pandemic. Please continue following guidelines to wear masks, social distance, wash hands, and limit large gatherings.
