Record number of Monroe students named to OMEA District 13 Honor Band

Mr. Brinkman's junior high and high school band programs recently celebrated a Monroe milestone: Of the eight students who auditioned for the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 13 Honor Band, four students and two alternates were selected to participate!
District 13 is a highly competitive region made up of Butler, Clinton, Preble and Warren counties. This year's Honor Band includes a record amount of participants from Monroe.
Congratulations to the following students for being named to the list alongside some of the very best instrumentalists in our region! They will go on to rehearse the weekend of Jan. 12-14 with culminating performances at Mason High School on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 2:00 p.m. (junior high) and 4:00 p.m. (high school).

- Clayton Herring - Ninth Grade Band
- Cali Powell (Junior) - Alternate for Wind Symphony II
