From the desk of Superintendent J. Robert Buskirk
Members of the Monroe community,
I am excited to share some wonderful news—the bond issue has officially passed! This is a monumental step forward for our district, and I want to sincerely thank everyone for their support in making this happen.
A huge thank you to our levy committee, whose dedication and hard work ensured that the word got out to our entire community. Their efforts, combined with your support, have shown just how much we all value our schools and the education of our children.
With the community’s overwhelming backing, we can now move forward with plans to build a new high school—a facility that our children and future generations will be proud to call their own. This new school will serve as a place of learning, growth and pride for our entire community.
As a reminder, the passage of this bond issue will not increase your taxes thanks to years of fiscal responsibility within our school district and $25.3 million in state funding. Per state law, all proceeds from the bond will be used to construct a new building. This funding cannot be used for operating expenses.
Monroe is truly a special place, and I am so thankful to live and work in such a supportive, caring and wonderful community. We could not have done this without you, and I’m excited for all the great things ahead.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support!
Sincerely,
J. Robert Buskirk
Superintendent
