Bob Mullins Named Head Football Coach

The Monroe Local Schools Board of Education voted to approve the hiring of Bob Mullins as the next Head Coach of the Monroe High School Football team at a special meeting that took place on Monday, December 3, 2018.

Shared Monroe High School Athletic Director Eric Silverman, “It is with great pride that I announce the hiring of Bob Mullins as Monroe High School’s next Head Football Coach! Bob has an outstanding track record of using the values and life lessons that the game of football provides to help develop young men of high character that are prepared for success in the classroom, on the football field and in life. I am extremely excited to welcome Coach Mullins and his family to Hornet Country and look forward to the future of our football program under his leadership." 

Coach Mullins has over 15 years of coaching experience having held assistant coaching postions at Oak Hills, Lakota West and Lakota East High Schools. Most recently Bob served as an Assistant Coach at Lakota East High School where he helped lead the Thunderhawks to the Regional Semifinal round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association's Division I State Playoffs this past season.

On the opportunity to be named the Hornets next head coach, Bob Mullins shared, “My family and I are very excited about the opportunity to be the next head football coach at Monroe High School.  I want to hit the ground running as we want to build a program that develops young men of character.  Being the head coach in a community like Monroe is truly an honor. Monroe is a great community built on great traditions filled with great people and I intend to put a product on the field which players, parents, coaches and community members can stand behind with pride.”

Coach Mullins and his wife Jenn have three sons Jake, Joey and Michael and reside in Liberty Township.

There will be an introductory meet and greet for students and parents on Wednesday, December 5 in the Monroe High School Auditorium at 7:00pm.
