5 Hornet Athletes Make College Commitments

The Monroe High School Athletic Department celebrated the commitments of 5 Hornet Athletes that will be continuing their academic and athletic careers at the intercollegiate level in a special College Signing Ceremony on Tuesday,  May 8, 2018 in front of their family and friends.

Monroe High School Athletic Director Eric Silverman shared, "today is the culmination of many years of hard work, dedication, commitment and sacrifice by the student-athletes that are making their college commitments today. These students should be commended for their pursuit of excellence both in the classroom and in their athletic endeavors."

Students making their college commitments on May 8 include:

  • Hunter Collins - Mount St. Joseph University (Baseball)
  • Matt Gray - Earlham College (Soccer and Track & Field)
  • Lauren Heck - University of Tennessee-Martin (Roping Rodeo)
  • Alex Page - Marietta College (Baseball)
  • Kailey Qucsai - Bowling Green State University (Cheerleading)

With 5 student-athletes making their commitments on May 8,  the total number of Hornets from the class of 2018 who will continue their athletic careers at the inter-collegiate level is now 10 joining Faith Hensley (Ball State University - Softball), Taylor Mooers (Lindenwood University  -Volleyball), Tara Morris (Ohio Northern University - Soccer), Maggie Riley (Shawnee State University - Tennis) and Hailey Stevens (Thomas More College - Softball) who made their college commitments in a ceremony on February 9, 2018.
