New Superintendent

March 20, 2018

Dear Monroe Local Schools Administrators, Faculty, Staff, Parents/Guardians and Community Members:

I am honored and excited to be named the next Superintendent of the Monroe Local School District. Monroe Local Schools are exceptional and offer superior opportunities for students! Its tradition of excellence is a credit to the commitment of the community members and the hard work of students and staff. It will be a privilege to serve as your next Superintendent.

I would like to take this opportunity to acquaint you with information about myself and my family.  I am a wife and a mother. My husband and I have two boys 18 and 22 years old. We currently reside in Liberty Township. Our family enjoys traveling to all of the major league ballparks. This is my 28th year in education (8 as a teacher and 20 as an administrator). I earned my undergraduate degree from Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia, my Masters in Elementary Education at Texas Christian University and principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent licensure from the University of Dayton.

Beginning in early April through July 31st, I will be in your district to meet staff, students, parents and community members.  I plan to attend extra-curricular, co-curricular and community events. Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself so that I can begin to get to know each of you.

As the school year begins, I will continue to be visible in the schools and community and look forward to meeting staff, parents/guardians, students and community members.  Developing strong partnerships is vital to our collaborative work. Building positive, professional relationships with district leadership and staff members throughout our school system is valuable.

I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to lead Monroe Local Schools; I look forward to working with the staff, students and community to continue to promote and celebrate the district’s accomplishments. Together, we will continue the mission to Motivate, Lead and Succeed.

Sincerely,

Kathy Demers,

Superintendent of Monroe Local Schools (August 1, 2018)
