School Facility Master Planning

At the conclusion of the November 27, 2017, Special Board of Education meeting, the Board voted unanimously to use the 29 acres that the District owns between Macready Avenue and Elm Street for the potential construction of a new school building.

The Board would like to thank the community for their continued support of our public schools and welcomes ongoing communications relative to this process.

The Monroe Local School district and community collaborated on a multiple-year facilities master planning process.  The goal of that process was to provide input to the school board on a long-term education facilities plan to support the district’s growing population.  A team of community members and school representatives has been active during that planning process.  Community input was gained through a survey, multiple public presentations, and board work sessions.

The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission has committed 49% matching state funds to support a school construction project for the Monroe Local School district. 

The final facility master plan is scheduled to be submitted to the state before the end of March.
