Place of Safety

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The following are Ohio State procedures designed to make transporting your children as safe as possible.  (ORC 3301-83-08)

• Students shall arrive at “driver designated place of safety” 5 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive, not in the house or cars. Drivers are required to count the students as they approach the bus stop.
• Students shall approach the bus only when the driver communicates that it is safe to do so by dropping their hand.
• When boarding the bus, students shall go directly to their assigned seats.
• Students shall remain seated and clear of the aisle during the entire trip.
• Students shall obey all rider rules.
• Before exiting, students shall remain seated until bus comes to a complete stop.
• Students shall exit the bus together at their designated bus stop.
• Students shall obey all crossing instructions given by the driver.
• Students shall go to the “Driver Designated Place of Safety” and Remain there until the bus has departed. The drivers are required to count the students as they pull away from the stop.

Your cooperation in reinforcing these safety rules with your child is greatly appreciated.

Los siguientes son los procedimientos del estado de Ohio diseñados para que el transporte de sus hijos sea lo más seguro posible. (ORC 3301-83-08)

• Los estudiantes deberán llegar al “lugar de seguridad asignado por el conductor” 5 minutos antes de la hora programada para que llegue el autobús, no a la casa ni a los automóviles. Los conductores deben contar a los estudiantes a medida que se acercan a la parada del autobús.
• Los estudiantes deberán acercarse al autobús solo cuando el conductor comunique que es seguro hacerlo dejando caer la mano.
• Al abordar el autobús, los estudiantes deberán ir directamente a sus asientos asignados.
• Los estudiantes deberán permanecer sentados y alejados del pasillo durante todo el viaje.
• Los estudiantes deberán obedecer todas las reglas del conductor.
• Antes de salir, los estudiantes deberán permanecer sentados hasta que el autobús se detenga por completo.
• Los estudiantes deberán salir juntos del autobús en su parada de autobús designada.
• Los estudiantes deberán obedecer todas las instrucciones de cruce dadas por el conductor.

Los estudiantes deberán ir al "Lugar de seguridad designado por el conductor" y permanecer allí hasta que el autobús haya salido. Los conductores deben contar a los estudiantes mientras se alejan de la parada.
